On Labor Day One Week Ago

Last week took 2 years off my life. And now that it's over, I'm ready to reflect on that crazy week in September called: back to school week. I didn't know just what that week was capable of and now I do.
But before school even began, there was a splendid three day weekend thanks to our beloved Labor Day.
In the Vaisey family, for the last 50 something years, that means a clam bake at the cottage...

We bundled up for the last boat rides of the season and sent summer off packing with a beautiful, cool, grey day in September.
(sigh)

1) I have only ever been to ONE clam bake. boo.

2) I can't believe your kids eat clams.

3) I love clam castinets.

4) You look so good that someone should dip you in butter and have a bake named after you in September. amen.

5) I miss you and I am so glad we had some facetime today.

I love that picture of Sime with the big shiny pot reflection. Almost makes up for the fact that he peed his pants this afternoon. Almost.

Can I tell you how happy these pictures make me. The weather looks divine. As much as I love summer, I adore cool evenings and the ability to wear layers. Such a fun time! Lukas loves seafood, but i don't think he'd ever eat a clam...go Lena!

you look amazing. always stylish, always beautiful.

your kids are adorable. if we ever meet in real life i feel like i would attack them and hug them like a long-lost auntie and they would be scared.

it's fall time in upstate new york! aren't you so excited! i'm excited to watch it play out on your blog...

i love the last picture. i laughed.
