This morning was a wrong-side-of-the-bed kind of morning.
No one wanted what was served for breakfast.
No one listened when I set my bedroom (with the sleeping baby) off limits.
No one wanted to get dressed (Lena) or have their 5 pound saggy diaper changed (Simon)
Then my visiting teacher showed up and the fighting and kicking and the wanting of each-other's stuff began. (why does that always happen when someone comes over?)
Then all of the sudden it started to pour.
So I sent them out in the trenches to see what would happen.
Boots and Crocs shot on like lightning.
Eyes lit up.
Smiles were born for the first time of the day.
They even stood hand in hand as they jumped off the porch together like caged children finally set free.
With each heavy soaking drop, the day turned around and happiness was reborn.
A second chance at a morning gone horribly wrong.
So, thanks for the rain.
With Love,
A desperate mother and her innocently misbehaving children
P.S. Too bad the shower doesn't have the same effect.

Jealous. We wanted to do the same thing this morning but had one of those lame-o doctor's appointments. We're glad you enjoyed it!
Way too much fun!
My thoughts exactly. Why is it the shower doesn't have the same effect?
I love your blog and this is my all-time fav. post! I only wish I were playing in the rain with them. It was windy as could be today.
LOVE this post....and my sweet rain-soaked grandchildren..:-) Oh and my dotty...:-)
