After we celebrated his first year with family yesterday afternoon,
we sat together and watched the events that unfolded one year ago today.
And no matter how many times I watch it, I can't seem get to the end without crying.
What a day. What a year.

I couldn't get to the end without crying either! Loved it Kelly!!
Very emotional video, good work sister
Beautiful, inspiring, magical! Thanks for posting this!
Ben was a little nervous that I was watching something graphic with the opening scene. Good job, Kel. I'd love to have something like this for my kids... maybe by the 3rd child I'll get my act together.
This was so amazing and emotional to watch!!! I have to have c-sections for health reasons, but in a perfect world I would want to do it just like you did, mother and baby so in-sync! You ROCK! Thanks for sharing!
so sweet!
i had to watch it without sound (stupid laptop) but i loved it anyway. i especially love when calvin startles lena. hilarious!
is it weird that i remember this day exactly last year? we went to the palmyra temple and i saw someone i thought was you. but lo, you were home birthing a baby. i can't believe it's been a year!
i prefer NOT to cry before 9am. thanks. happy birthday little bubby. love auntie kera. xx
I had a homebirth in Fairport a little over a month before Calvin was born (we have the same midwife, of course). I didn't think I wanted a video but seeing this makes me wish we had one. Thank you so much for sharing! It made me cry too. :)
I'm hoping we'll be in the same place at the same time one of these days so I can tell you in person how much I love your blog!
wow that was beautiful! kelly, you're pretty cool.
this is poetic, kelly. it makes me want babies - a whole lot of them! (and all at home).
Love it! I have to say one of my favorite parts was Lena running in with your bra. Priceless memories, I'd say. :)
This was beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Birthday little one (and happy Birth day Mama).
i'm glad everyone enjoyed it. this is the first birth we video taped. it was so much fun going back through the footage to make this for his first birthday.
and a side note: lena used to carry that bra around all day for something like 6 months to "smell it" she slept with it too. she's weird:)
Thanks for the inspiration and congrats on your homebirth. We are taking Bradley classes and trying a natural birth. So glad you taped your experience!
A. I loved this, I bawled like a baby. I'm sure I looked stupid just crying on my couch but my husband is used to me crying like a dope over things like this...
B. It was so creative!
C. I've had 2 breech C section babies so I might not be able to do natural births now, but after seeing this I wish I would've been able to!
