the hand on the shoulder slays me
I wait until my babies are 6 months to start feeding them solids. Part out of laziness and part because solid-fed babies need their cloth diapers rinsed(I like doing the exclusively breast-fed toss in the pail) and also part because I want them to be good and ready and excited to eat all the undesirable vegetables I throw their way.
I also make my own baby food and try to get as creative as possible with food combinations. Does that sound braggy? It's actually so easy a caveman could do it. Plus I think it's a lot cheaper and healthier.
I think it's my secret to success.
Now, my children haven't always been the best sleepers,
(Baby Lena, current Simon, Calvin)
but they sure can eat!

Veggies UNDESIRABLE?? No!!! But I'm biased, I actually crave cauliflower for a snack, stir fired in olive oil & garlic...yum. But better than cauliflower, is a hungry well fed baby!! Kudos & Congrats!
All right, I am at the caveman level when it comes to these things...where do I begin?!
oops, i need to get on that...
get a food processor of some sort, buy fruits and veggies, even meat, puree them, freeze them and thaw when ready. simp.
mix them together, keep them separate, add cinnamon, plain. ease.
plus if you're diligent about it, and have enough room in your freezer you only have to do it once a week or less.
Making baby food is so so so easy! We have done so many fun combinations including leek and spinach--yum! Dalia eats everything we eat (including Indian) and she is only 11 months old. I say go for the fun combos and interesting flavors--develop their palates early on--it is very rewarding!
Your little guy is SO cute!
maybe a neolithic caveman could do it but I am a PALEOlithic caveman so...
ps. Calvin is so cute and I love the aggressive big sister feeding!
love this redhead...and his sister too! :-) he looks like he's enjoying it!
