Birth Junkie

Waiting for a baby to be born is a test of patience.

Yowza. You can say that again.

Waiting for a baby to be born is a test of patience.

To help ease the time, I like to read birth stories. I'm a weirdo nut for them. I'll take them anywhere I can get them.
Lately I've been reading lots of them in books, but also on Design Mom.
I love that she is posting all kinds of different birth stories.
Namely this one. If you haven't read it, you really must take time to do so.
Simply beautiful.
Do you like to read birth stories?
I believe birth stories can change our perspective or mindset about birth and link us, as women, to one another. All powerful and unique in their own ways.

Get your birth junkie on.

You're such a cute pregnant chick. All baby! Not sure which answer I'll pick on your poll. Maybe you could post pics of yourself with different hairstyles so I can decide.

Nella's birth story amazes me. I've read it several times now and I never tire of it. Her mom is incredible and the pictures. Oh, they just take my breath away.

1.) that story is amazing.

2.) your legs are tiny! what is the secret to skinny legs while being pregnant? i swear, mere minutes after conception my legs blow up three times their normal size and i can't get my pants on past my knees and when i catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror i think to myself "WHOSE LEGS ARE THOSE?"

such a story, right?! i cried a lot.

and to robin-
maybe my legs are skinny because i workout all the time. maybe not

maybe my legs are skinny because i have my laundry room in the basement. true story

maybe my legs are skinny because I come from parents with chicken legs. might be

or maybe my legs only appear to be skinny and you're actually being tricked into thinking they are actually very small. in reality I have a stretch mark on my right calf. awes.

Seriously, that story is amazing. Of course now I'm going to start reading more birth stories, which either empower me, scare me, or get me anxious for what is to come in October. Can't wait to hear about your birth story of numero tres. Any day now, right?!?!

I cried, and then held little Mackaroon just a little bit tighter and nursed him a little bit longer, and smushed my lips into his gooshy little cheeks a little bit further. You just can't help but love them. Mack's birth is still so vivid in my mind and I know this sounds crazy but I've thought a few times that I wouldn't mind reliving it just so I could remember and cherish every detail.
P.S. Don't watch TLC's Baby Story. So ridiculous and dramatic. I've thought about writing in to complain that they are poisoning women into thinking that childbirth is traumatic and unbearably painful and only furthering the hidden agendas of today's practitioners. Sorry, I'm done venting.
