Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Schmeeboo, Happy Birthday to you!

Lena turned 2 years old last Sunday, April the 6th! We invited a few families over for a quick bite of cake and ice cream between conference sessions. The sun was even kind enough to grace us with its presence. A few days before her birthday we read a book to her about a surprise birthday party, and when her big day finally came, she ran around all over the place shouting "surprise!!"

Why a bear cake you might ask? Well, If I could had to narrow down her absolute favorite thing between the ages of 1 and 2 it would be dou dou bears. Every bear big and small she calls dou dou, so I think this special request for a "dou dou girl cake" was fitting to say the least. Thanks Maurice Sendak.

Cake, ice cream, friends, family, presents, and lots of sun shine made for a wonderful celebration of the past year spent with our sweet little leen. Thanks for another great three hundred and sixty-five days of having the very special privilege of being your mother Lena, I love you the most:)
