cloth diapers. Hooray. Why didn't I think of this before?
When Lena was about 2 months old, I began my journey of cloth diapering. It has been a wild ride of ups and downs, and it takes a lot of trial and error to find just the right diapes that work best for you and your baby's sweet cheeks.
I have used everything from old fashion prefolds to fitteds, to all-in-ones and snap-ins. I'd have to say my favorites are plain ol' prefolds and covers (usually wool) and pocket diapers, namely bumGenius! Back when Leen was a wee one, bumGenius! were brand new to the scene, and since their debut they have changed the design of their diapers twice. And, let me just say bravo bumGenius, bravo. I LOVE these new diapes! They are awesome because they can accommodate babies from 8-35 pounds, and that's basically the whole time your littles are in diapers! Plus they changed and fixed everything I didn't like about the originals. So, I recently purchased 18 of these bad boys for Lena and Simon. So far, no leaks, no red marks on their tiny hinneys, and most importantly they keep their bums feeling nice and dry. Love it.
I thoroughly enjoy talking about everything cloth diapers, so if you ever thought about giving them a try, I will gladly talk you into using them:) I am dying to share with you all of my hard sought after knowledge. So, go ahead. What are you waiting for? Our environment will thank you, and so will your kids' behinds.

But of course! THIS is the entry that's been missing all this time from your blog! Those diapers have come a long way since I used cloth ones on Shannon! Once you get past the initial shock of the cost of them, they are worth it, right?! Good job Kel.
that's right mom. well worth the investment, and the cost is less than disposies in the grand scheme;) Hurry and come visit will ya?
ok so i guess tell me more....isn't clean up nasty????
I had no idea you used cloth! Our next baby is def. going to be cloth. I really really realized I wanted to cloth diaper Lukas, but by that time he was 15 months old and I decided that I'd just hold off until the next one. The upfront cost was really high, even though I know that in the end they are way more affordable. But even then, I still get online and am always aware of what is going on with C.Diapers. There is so much informtion and so many out there. Woohoo on doing it. Most of the people I talk to about doing it w/our second call me crazy. OH WELL....I can't wait to one day enter into the ever so crazy world of cloth diapering.
Okay, they are great for the environment and all but very stinky for your house and washer. I liked them for the short time that we used them, but after we stopped all my laundry smelled like dirty diapers. I wish I could've had these new Bum Genius diapers instead of the Fuzzy Bunz I had. You should be a writer for the comercial for Bum Genius!!
Not stinky sist when washed regularly and properly. And, yes, these are in my opinion better than those fuzzi bunz...
Who's got time for promptness when you have 2 kids and go to school?? Not me!!
Hey they're not for everyone, but it's nice to have options! They sure have improved since I used them on you Shannon! :-)
