Richmond Zoo

With the sudden drastic rise in temperature on Saturday we decided to spend the afternoon at the Metro Richmond Zoo. I actually really love this zoo because it is much smaller than most zoos and usually less crowded. We particularly loved the monkeys. We shared a laugh as we watched them swing and play. Each time we met a new animal Lena would look back at us as if to ask, "OK, what's this one called, and what sound does it make?" She kept Jeff and I entertained with her vigorous pointing and various animal mimicking sounds. And of course, who doesn't love a little nibble of a delicious cherry sno kone after a long day of walking in the blazing sun. Needless to say, our faces were a little sun kissed on the return trip home as we headed back to our nest to put up our feet and rest our weary heads. It was a good day.
