I think the girls who didn't win realized how dumb they had been when they saw how life changed for the girl who did win. But it was a tiny Mormon town, no one talked about sex much less preventing pregnancy, and there was nothing to do, so lots of girls ended up pregnant. I think this stuff happens more than anyone realizes and it's sad. I feel bad for these babies and for the girls who have them.
